We Believe

The ACMA accepts the Scriptures as the revealed Will of God, the all sufficient rule of faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining general unity, adopts these Statements of Fundamental Truths and Doctrine:

The Scriptures Inspired

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason.   (2Tim. 3:15-17; 1Pet 1:2, 3;25; Heb 4:12)

The One True Godhead

The triune Godhead is comprised of three (3) separate and distinct personalities, The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, who are eternally self-existent, self-revealed and function as one entity.(Mt 28:10; Rom 1:20; 2Cor 13:14; Col 2:9)

The Divinity and Purpose of Christ

Jesus Christ, who is God manifested in the flesh, is the second member of the Godhead, coequal and coeternal with The Father and The Holy Spirit. He was born of the Virgin Mary, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and is the only Savior for mankind. (Luke 1:26-35; Jn 1:1-5, 14; 1Sam 9:6)

Man, His Fall and Redemption

Man was created good and upright, for God said, "Let us make man in Our image, after Our likeness".  But, man, by voluntary transgression, fell and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God.  (Gen 1:26, 31, 3:17; Rom 5:12, 21).

The Salvation of Man

The salvation of sinners is by grace through faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary. The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness. (Rom 3:24; Eph 2:8; Rom 10:8-10).

Blessed Hope

Jesus is coming again to gather all His Saints to Heaven.

(I Cor. 15:51, 52;  1Thess. 4:1617; and 2Thess. 2:1).

The Final Judgment

There is a resurrection of the dead, and a final judgment of mankind. The righteous who will rise unto eternal life, and the wicked cast into the lake of fire unto eternal judgment. (Rom 14:10; 2Cors 5:10; Rev 20:12-15)

The Millennial Reign of Jesus

The return of our Lord Jesus Christ with His Saints from Heaven to rule and reign for one thousand years on earth as the Scriptures promised. (Romans 11:25, 27; 2 Thess. 1:7; Rev. 19:1116; 20:17).  After this, there shall be a new heaven and a new earth. (Rev. 21).

The Church

The church is the body of Christ, both in the universal sense and local expression, in Heaven and in earth. Its purpose is to fulfill and facilitate the great commission to make disciples of all nations. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in Heaven. (Mt 28:19; Ephesians 1:22; 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23)

The Unity of the Body

We are called as a brotherhood in Christ to work together in the spirit of love and unity, preferring others before ourselves, and not to use our fellowship for personal agenda or achievement, but to let men see our good works together and to give the glory to God. (Amos 3:3; 1Tim 2:1; Ps 133:1-3; Philippians 2:1-4; Mt 5:16)

Marriage

The institution of marriage as given by God is a sacred and holy covenant between one man and one woman and is the cornerstone of the family and society. (Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:31)

Sexual Relations

The divine purpose of sexual intimacy was given as a gift from God and its expression is limited to the bounds of holy matrimony between one man and one woman. Any interactions outside the covenant of marriage distort and destroy God's intended purpose for sexual morality.  Gen 2:21-25; 1Cor 5:9, 6:9; Gal 5:19; Heb 13:4

Sanctity of Life

The sanctity of human life begins at conception, and is to be protected from its inception to its natural termination. (Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139:13; Luke 1:44)

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
Creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

the universal church of Jesus Christ,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
